Discover London off the beaten track and head to Broadway market for a cool collection of bars and shops and a weekly street food market!
Broadway Market is located in the Hackney district, an upcoming neighbourhood where as a tourist you might not wonder off to. But think again, because this area is the place to be right now.
The street is bursting with independent bars, restaurants and shops that all fit the slightly alternative yet trendy style of the locals there. My favourite shop was the Broadway Book Shop with a breathtaking collection of design magazines and coffee table books.
The lovely Market Café on the corner of the street is a hotspot with a sunny terrace, where the locals gather for a coffee or lunch. But apart from this cafe there are many more bars and restaurants to discover such as Franco Manca with delicious sourdough pizza or Tiosk, a trendy teashop with a small bar inside for lovely English afternoon tea!
Each Saturday Broadway Market hosts one of Londons best street food markets. The whole street is covered with market stands and offers you food from all over the world. Apart from the fact it all smells amazing and tastes even better, the vibe during the market is great! So find yourself a spot on one of the terraces, or pick up something on the street food market and enjoy a lunch in the nearby London Fields park. Definitely a weekly event you cannot miss out on!
Leave the typical tourist traps behind you and discover another side of London. After visiting Broadway Market you will find yourself close to the Regent’s Canal, a beautiful path for an afternoon stroll. I’m pretty sure you’ll agree; exploring Hackney is worth it!
